I have gone two different directions -- one using a photo (or photos) at the top of the pages, the other direction is just graphical. See if one of them is heading in the right direction for you...

There are multiple options for each, and to some degree, a lot of the elements can be mixed and matched. I will blather on the following pages a bit more about all of that.
